The History of Monnaber Nou

Eight Centuries of Tradition

When King Jaime I of Aragon conquered Majorca at the beginning of the 13th century, he divided the lands among the nobles who had supported him. One of the resulting territories, situated in the foothills of the magnificent Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and surrounded by olive, almond, carob and fig trees, was known by the Arabic for ‘Hill of Flowers’ –‘Monnaber’.
